From KXII - Bryan County Community Building Named for Longtime Extension Agent Clay Jones

On Friday, July 16, 2010, the Community Building at the Bryan County Fairgrounds was named in honor of longtime County Extension Agent Clay Jones. Jones, who served the county for three decades, retired at the end of last year. At the surprise event honoring Jones, Senator Jay Paul Gumm was asked about Jones' contribution to the county, agriculture and children involved in agricutlure education. The story was aired by KXII-TV during its 6 p.m. newscast that day and was reported by Josh Stevenson.

From KTEN - Oklahoma Materials Recycling Celebrates Groundbreaking

On Friday, July 9, 2010, Oklahoma Materials Recycling held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new facility in Atoka. KTEN Television covered the event and interviewed Senator Jay Paul Gumm, OMR CEO Bob Lupini, and Atoka Mayor Charles McCall III. A key component for attracting the company - and its $2 million annual payroll - to Atoka was preservation of state tax credits until the deal between Atoka and the company was finalized. Senator Gumm, whose district includes a portion of Atoka County, led efforts to preserve the tax credits. This report aired July 9 on KTEN's 10 p.m. newscast anchored by Lisanne Anderson.
